During March, NIGP Chapters celebrated the professionals who found their purpose in procurement—and the extraordinary impact they make every day. Public procurement is the quiet force that keeps cities running, schools equipped, roads safe, and essential services accessible to all. Procurement professionals are the connectors, the problem‑solvers, the guardians of public trust—unsung heroes whose decisions strengthen communities and elevate the quality of life for everyone. Procurement Month is a celebration of pride, purpose, and the profound influence of a profession that rarely seeks the spotlight—but always delivers impact.
On March 26, 2026, NIGP’s Ohio chapters, CO-OPP and PPANO, gathered at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport celebrating the outstanding contributions of our chapter members. Their dedication throughout the year has been instrumental in maintaining effective agency operations and ensuring responsible, compliant procurement practices.
Governor Mike DeWine issued an official proclamation designating March as Procurement Month while several other public organizations also issued proclamations during March. Both NIGP Ohio chapters also released their own proclamations recognizing the importance of Procurement during March.
